Long story short: the Tough Armor is a great case. It’s virtually flawless aside from the finish getting a little too grimy too quickly. The kickstand is something few other cases have, for whatever reason. The Tough Armor costs $16.99 for the Pixel 2 and $17.99 for the 2 XL. To get the gunmetal finish (I have the black) which I’d imagine would hide fingerprints better, you’ll need to pony up an extra dollar. The price is on the high end for Spigen, but it’s still very reasonable.

Alan Dye later described to me the “pivotal moment” when he and Ive decided “to avoid the edge of the screen as much as possible.” This was part of an overarching ambition to blur boundaries between software and hardware. I could list a number of terrible ideas.” They attempted to blur edges, and squeeze images into circles. There was “a lot of vignetting”—the darkening of a photograph’s corners. “In the end, it was maybe putting ourselves first,” he said.

Finally, the usual qualifier: battery life is as relative as gas mileage in a car, or more so. Putting full, continuous load on the system will draw down battery power much more quickly.

“She said ‘I can’t believe you bought this,’” Meyers remembers now, with a laugh. But according to Meyers, her shock was not unwarranted.

Like the kitchen, the bar also explores the possibilities that lie hidden in organic fruits and flowers while going a step further by making its own shrubs and tonics. A selection of flavoured tonics include the Spiced Vanilla Tonic (vanilla and cinnamon tonic water), Flower Power Tonic (jasmine, elderflower & grapefruit) and Star Anise and Pear Tonic.

They even manufacture their own face shields, tinted visors and internally rotating sun visors, including the anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings, which are all done at the Nolan factory!

There’s also some excellent news on the Android 9.0 Pie side of things as the company has already started flighting MIUI 10 (based on Android 9.0) in beta form to Pocophone F1 owners, so an official release will hopefully come soon. Some of Pie’s features, like gesture-based navigation, are already found in MIUI 9.6.

I was so looking forward to installing a glass screen protector on my Pixel 2 XL, given the $900+ that I had to trade Google for it. I’ve been using them for years and have installed a metric buttload, though in recent years, they’ve been getting worse due to curved screens. ZAGG is not immune to this, and its InvisibleShield Glass Curve made me realize I’d rather have no screen protector and risk scratching/cracking my screen than have a crappy one.
