based on the existing spatial composition, MINOR lab has redefined the space and its internal qualities, contrasting new and old materials and adjusting the spatial scale and light ambiance. the existing sunken theatre space, skylight and yard have influence the design approach, creating a space where people can experience several vivid scenes through shades of light when walking from the hutong street into the site, similar to wandering in a theater. located by the entrance, the exhibition space is bright and lively, whereas the following corridor on the eastern side of the yard is redesigned as a tranquil and dark gallery area. the gallery connects two spaces of separate functions, the exhibition space and the office, which occupies the initial sunken space.

Helmet shells then go to the decal shop to have the decals applied. The shop is climate controlled and is rather warm and humid to allow the best environment for the decals to stick to the helmet:

Bi-conductive surfaces were fabricated by embedding lines of a low-conductivity epoxy into a copper substrate. Copper sheets (1 mm thickness) were cut to size and grooves were machined into them using Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM). The EDM wire thickness was 0.254 mm with a reported minimum spark gap of 0.381 mm ± 0.127 mm. The copper was then treated with an alkaline solution to produce an oxide layer with nano-scale surface roughness to promote adhesion between the copper and epoxy14. The surfaces were then coated with a non-conductive high-temperature two-part epoxy (Aremco 526N) filling all of the grooves. The epoxy was cured at 93 °C for 2 hours, followed by 163 °C for 12 hours to achieve a maximum strength bond. After curing, the surfaces were manually sanded with 200 grit sand paper until the bare copper between each epoxy division was exposed. The bare copper surfaces (with no epoxy divisions) were also sanded using the same method. The surfaces were finally cleaned with solvents and dried with N2.

All things considered, this is a nice case with an interesting design. $16.99 ($15.99 for the Pixel 2) won’t break the bank, though I’d stay away if you have smaller hands purely because it is a bit wider than most other cases of this caliber. It sounds silly, I know, but I have fairly large hands and the phone legitimately feels larger and a little harder to hold with this case on. It also comes in ‘Kinda Blue’ for an extra dollar, if that’s more your speed.
