Figure 1a–d shows the bi-conductive surfaces fabricated and tested for the current work. Grooves were first machined into copper substrates and subsequently filled with a two-part high-temperature epoxy. No other cases on the market look like UAG’s. The back features a clear back with a honeycomb design that’s topped by a giant plastic bug-esque plastic piece and some massive UAG branding. I have the ‘Ash’ color, which features a slightly smoked back when compared to the clear ‘Ice.’ The corners are heavily reinforced for maximum shock resistance, and there are fake rubber screws on the back that don’t really do anything. There are also some plastic ridges on the side for added grip. This isn’t the type of case that I’d ordinarily buy, but I can certainly see the merit in the design.
