“Maybe we’ll do a little upgrade with some TVs,” said Darwin, who has put $31,000 into custom work on the bus, “so we can watch while we’re driving down the road a little bit. Don’t have a motion receiver for the thing, so it would be nice to have one of those and we can watch some football or whatever.”
Meyers aimed to do several things with the renovations. Initially he wanted to bring in a contemporary feel to the space. With help from his friends, Meyers took out the worn front barn doors and replaced them with large, glass, garage-style doors. The applewood was sanded, varnished, and set up as the bar top. The remaining wood adorned the cabinets and shelves behind the bar. They brought brewing equipment to a small glass room in the back of the first floor, so guests could watch them try out new ciders.
MINOR lab transforms a traditional hutong residence in beijing‘s old-town area, into an office and exhibition space of PAGEONE bookstore. the structure, located in a hutong – a type of narrow street – has operated as a hostel since 1998, while in 2014 it was converted into a small theater using steel. given that its function will change again soon, the architects adopted a light and flexible approach, retaining memories of the site and keeping the dynamics of the city and the street while refining the main structure.

You remember how my bathroom was?” She stood in the newly remodeled bath of the apartment she’ll soon be moving to. “It’s beautiful. They’ve done all this so fast."

Buttons here are different from those on any other Spigen case. The power button is ridged, keeping it from getting confused with the volume buttons. The volume buttons don’t actually protrude from the body like most do, but because they wrap around the side of the phone, they’re still easy to press and tactile. There’s nothing too noteworthy about the fingerprint sensor and camera cutouts, though the recess for the fingerprint sensor does have a glossy accent.
"What’s most stunning about this historic home is that it never left the family—until now. The Minchens’ son, Meyer, a highly decorated World War II Navy pilot, lived in the home until his death this summer at age 95. Meyer, who apparently spent considerable time with an elaborate ham radio setup in the garage, was well-known in the neighborhood and, legend has it, entertained celebrities performing at the old Shamrock Hotel."
One morning in September, Ive was talking with a few friends, including Chris Martin, of Coldplay, and Stephen Fry, the British actor and writer, in a courtyard beside a community-college hall, a few miles from Apple’s headquarters, in Cupertino. He wore pale, wide pants, cut as if for a chef, and tan suède Clarks shoes, and his hair was cropped. He was maintaining a look captured in a Playmobil figure of him, which his design colleagues made as a Christmas present a few years ago. The seven-inch Ive had on sunglasses and carried an off-white Valextra briefcase. A photograph of the gift is the lock-screen image on Ive’s iPhone.

If it were my money, I don’t think I’d buy a MagCase. Sure, the material is cool and the integrated magnet is handy, but $48 is an awful lot of money for a case that wouldn’t really protect my phone in a drop. On top of that, the magnetic car mount is an additional $10 from PITAKA for a $58 total, and that might not even fit in your car. In contrast, the Thin Fit and a set of magnetic mounts would barely cost $20. If you really like the material, I wouldn’t blame you for wanting a MagCase, but it’s not a practical buy. And for what it’s worth, the Pixel 2 XL size doesn’t seem to be in stock right now.
