The split, sliding front center armrest allows row-one occupants to individually adjust each half of the armrest to their liking, and concealed underneath it is a cubby with a cupholder and additional storage space. Another cupholder is located under a flush-fitting cover next to the rotary transmission controller.
The minimalism continues on the back. There’s no branding at all, which MNML is quite proud of. The camera cutout is as precise as it can possibly be, with the cutout going exactly around the lens and the flash. The fingerprint sensor cutout, however, is quite a bit larger than the sensor itself to ensure that use is still easy. There’s also a circular ridge around it so that you can find the sensor easily without looking. The buttons are a little bit more difficult to access, but again, given the slimness of the case around the cutout, you won’t have any issues.
Designed to bring the warmth and contrast of natural wood to the ceilings of covered decks, porches and verandas, the original Canvas Series T&G won immediate acceptance for new construction and renovation after its introduction last year. Now Versatex has expanded the range of options with two innovative profiles in matching, colorfast woodgrain finishes.

The closest I got was in 2008 when I visited MXL Industries, a company in Pennsylvania that makes face shields for Shoei and others. That visit was described in my article “How to Make a Motorcycle Helmet Visor“.

Jobs visited the design studio and, as Ive recalled it, said, “Fuck, you’ve not been very effective, have you?” This was a partial compliment. Jobs could see that the studio’s work had value, even if Ive could be faulted for not communicating its worth to the company. During the visit, Ive said, Jobs “became more and more confident, and got really excited about our ability to work together.” That day, according to Ive, they started collaborating on what became the iMac. Soon afterward, Apple launched its “Think Different” campaign, and Ive took it as a reminder of the importance of “not being apologetic, not defining a way of being in response to what Dell just did.” He went on, “My intuition’s good, but my ability to articulate what I feel was not very good—and remains not very good, frustratingly. And that’s what’s hard, with Steve not being here now.” (At Jobs’s memorial, Ive called him “my closest and my most loyal friend.”)
In the spring of 1992, before a general election that the Labour Party was expected to win, after thirteen years of Conservative Party rule, Tangerine presented its bathroom at Ideal Standard’s headquarters, in Hull. Grinyer is still annoyed that the company rejected it. One complaint, he recalled, was that if the sink’s column fell it might kill a child; he thought that the column shared this attribute with other big ceramic objects.
That change might be harder than it sounds. It took decades for quiet, contemplative dining to give way to today’s raucousness. That’s because the physical construction of restaurants had to change in tandem with the culture supporting it.
One morning at Apple’s headquarters, a few weeks earlier, Ive recalled how, in 1997, the company seemed to be dying around him. “Every story you’d read, every morning before coming to work, started with the phrase ‘The beleaguered computer maker, Apple,’ ” he said. Ive was then thirty; after five years at the company, he had become its head of industrial design. “There was a Wired cover that had a big Apple logo with a crown of barbed wire, as thorns, and underneath it just said, ‘PRAY.’ I remember this because of how upsetting it was. Basically saying: either it’s going to just go out of business or be bought.”
“I couldn’t be happier with the situation that ended up out of this cool old building. For someone who hasn’t gotten to do this before, it was a dream to do it,” he said.
Toast has been producing laser-cut wood covers for phones for some time now, and it’s pretty much the only company that does so. However, I’ve never actually tried one – until now. I was sent a cover in the standard wood finish with the Triangles design. Though it’s definitely something that nobody else on the street will have, the cons outweigh the pros (for me, at least).
