Single-layer clear cases are usually pretty plain (and that’s the way I like them), but Ghostek decided to spruce the Covert 2 up a little bit. The oversized corners are a welcome touch, as they probably absorb a lot of shock, but the same can’t be said for the rest of the case. The triangle pattern over the glass portion and on the lower sides isn’t ugly, but it’s not particularly useful and I think the case would look better without it. I’m also not a huge fan of the large branding, of which there are two instances on the back.

Perfectly-crafted trim finishers celebrate the natural look and texture of authentic materials. Choices include a Satin Blonde Linear veneer, which is pale-stained and has a satin feel open-pore finish to give a very modern, airy character, and the Argento Pin-stripe veneer, which is distinguished by its high-gloss finish and silver streaks to emphasize the wood grain. If you’re looking for protection and relatively good looks on a budget, you may be considering Caseology’s Legion to install on your shiny new Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL. Like its very noble-sounding name suggests, it’s a strong, protective case. It’s also pretty good-looking, though it isn’t without a few minor flaws.

At nearly 6.2 inches it is definitely quite large, and a little hard to handle single-handedly. I found it to be an adjustment moving from the one-handed comfort of the Nokia 6.1 Plus to the Pocophone F1, but the larger screen is a boon when it comes to watching videos and playing games. The screen also has a notch, though Pocophone did at least manage to fit in a second speaker and an IR sensor in there. Joining the two is the front camera in the same spot, so there may be something to be said for the benefits of having a notch.

While the game space displayed on the TV is handled by roll20, that doesn’t mean [CapnJackHarkness] or their friends can’t add a few extra props to their sessions.

The differences are mostly in features and price. A 40″ TV is under $200 at Walmart right now. Monitors anywhere near that large tend to be 4k or curved and so command a premium, most are at least $400, closer to $600 or more. A television has a tuner and a user interface that may be useless without a remote control, a monitor has a resolution appropriate for it’s size at a viewing distance of an arm’s length, no tuner, and a UI that is set with buttons on the device and then forgotten forever. A television tends to have some analog input options for composite and split video signals along with HDMI, while a monitor will tend to have an RGB input (VGA) if any analog, as well as some displayport or DVI ports in addition to HDMI if present.

The built-in screen protector is better than I expected it to be, but that’s not saying much. Unlike the ZAGG glass screen protector I had, you don’t experience any issues with screen sensitivity – at least until you get to the edges, at which point you do have to push a tiny bit harder than you should have to. Because of the giant yellowish-green plastic bezel surrounding the screen protector, it’s actually difficult to press some elements near the edges of the screen, namely the nav buttons. And if you’re used to swiping down on the status bar from the center of the screen like I am, too bad; you’ll have to learn to swipe from the top left or top right. The front-facing speakers are covered by what appears to be the same kind of plastic covering the fingerprint sensor. In my testing, they did muffle sound output a bit, but not by too much. Even the camera and flash are covered, though I really didn’t notice any image degradation.
