Today’s interior designs are often seen as throwbacks to classic mid-century-modern spaces—sparse and sleek, with hardwood floors and colorful Danish chairs with tapered legs seated beside long, light-colored wood tables. The contemporary revival of this style tends to highlight these features to excess. However, photographs of restaurants from the 1950s through the 1970s reveal that interiors were opulent in the more luxurious lounges and supper clubs. Trends that today’s diners associate with luxury, such as hard surfaces and open kitchens, were, in mid-century, mainly relegated to lowbrow spaces such as cafés, cafeterias, and diners. The finest eateries—such as French and specialty restaurants, exclusive lounges, and cocktail bars—were the most highly ornamented and plush. Even high-modernist interiors made extensive use of soft goods, including cloth tablecloths, heavy drapes, carpeted floors, and upholstered seating. Across the board, mid-century restaurants had low ceilings, often with acoustic ceiling tiles.

The most significant of these is an intelligent, efficient, torque on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which is designed to provide the optimum torque distribution to suit the current road conditions2.

There’s also some excellent news on the Android 9.0 Pie side of things as the company has already started flighting MIUI 10 (based on Android 9.0) in beta form to Pocophone F1 owners, so an official release will hopefully come soon. Some of Pie’s features, like gesture-based navigation, are already found in MIUI 9.6.

Ive said that, in fifteen years, only two designers have left the studio—one of them because of ill health. He regards this as a clinching argument about harmoniousness. It isn’t: many people put up with unhappy workplaces. But even Satzger’s public remarks have been largely admiring. It’s easy to imagine that the studio’s hushed zeal might strike some as claustrophobic and priggish. And it might be unnerving when, in company negotiations, a designer’s composed bearing carries steely intent. (Richard Howarth, a veteran Ive lieutenant, soft-spoken and British, is considered “a badass, in terms of driving things,” I was told, half-jokingly. “He’s feared.”) But it’s hard to mount a challenge to the consensus that Ive, however vexed and self-conscious, is a good egg. He has the soreness of a man who took all but one vote in a popularity contest.

Really using miniatures would be the only reason to embed it within the table. I’ve played a couple of one-offs with my kids and I used Roll20 as-is set up on a large TV at the end of the table. On Roll20, a single “player” had control of all their characters and they just moved their own tokens on their turn around using a couple of shared mice. Character sheets were pen & paper and dice rolls were real dice.

The Fusion is the only case I remember in Ringke’s product line, as I owned one for the Nexus 5. I remember thinking about how similar it was to another case from Spigen, which I’d also bought. Several years later, I own a Ringke Fusion for my Google phone once again, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite cases. Allow me to explain.

The pure and simple yet strong forms of the vehicle’s bodysides are testament to Range Rover brand’s long history of lightweight Aluminum construction. The clean, unadorned surfaces are punctuated by a strong shoulder line just below the glasshouse, while a thin, sweeping black graphic flows elegantly around the body’s lower reaches.

We’re still waiting on Incipio to respond to our request for review units, but in the meantime, Google sent over the only Incipio case it carries on the Google Store: the Oh Joy! x Incipio. Incipio sells these cases with different patterns under several monikers, but they all feature the same basic clear case base that you see here. It’s a good case, even if it isn’t the most feature-filled.

The Exec 2 is a good idea with some added flair in the form of a fabric back and a leather pocket, but it’s ultimately a usability nightmare. The cards are difficult to take out, the pocket takes up so much space that you can’t even feel the fabric back, and all of this makes the case extremely thick. If you have skinny jeans and struggled to fit the phone itself in your pockets, good luck with this monstrosity. It’s a shame that the fabric back and tactile buttons were used on a case that isn’t nicer overall. It comes in black, brown, pink, purple, red, and silver.
