In its Google Store listing’s photos, the Air Jacket looks pretty sharp. It paints the picture of a barely-there case. It turns out that’s true, but not in a good way. The case is entirely made of polycarbonate, a hard plastic material that is not at all ideal to make an entire case out of. It’s fairly scratch-resistant, but that’s about the only thing going for it. As you might imagine, it’s quite slippery. And given the nature of the material, I honestly think the case could crack/shatter with a hard-enough drop. It also feels like it could pop off, which is never a good feeling. Keep in mind that the bottom of the case is exposed, too, so there’s another potential issue. Oh, and the lip will not save anything.

The tables are made of birch wood and marble, and leather is used extensively on furniture, with minute attention paid to details of flaps and tufting. Crate wood panelling on the bar front, brightly coloured tiled floors, textured glass, embossed ceilings, and mild steel exposed to a natural rusting process, all evoke a feeling of comfort and timelessness.

Buttons here are different from those on any other Spigen case. The power button is ridged, keeping it from getting confused with the volume buttons. The volume buttons don’t actually protrude from the body like most do, but because they wrap around the side of the phone, they’re still easy to press and tactile. There’s nothing too noteworthy about the fingerprint sensor and camera cutouts, though the recess for the fingerprint sensor does have a glossy accent.

Rounding out the offering, the home is equipped with a generator, irrigation system and security system.

So is it a computer monitor or is it a TV? Why use it in the first place? Nice woodworking on the table but I prefer playing the old way.

Later that day, I asked Ive about an Apple design that shares the new campus’s formal simplicity: the circular “hockey puck” mouse that was included with the first iMacs. Many found it hard to control, and it is widely considered a design failure. Ive didn’t accept that description. Brunner and Ive had dinner in San Francisco a few days before Apple’s September announcement; they barely talked about the Beats deal. “I was telling my wife I’ll be home by ten o’clock,” Brunner said. “We were still drinking past twelve-thirty. I think he was blowing off a little steam.” (Stephen Fry said of Ive, “He loves a great hotel and a great wine.”) Ive was worn out, and preoccupied by the launch, and, Brunner said, by the thought of “doing something like this without Steve.” But they gossiped a little about designers, and Brunner was reminded of his former employee’s extreme thoroughness when Ive showed him drawings of “a perfectly radiused marble corner” for a future bathroom in Pacific Heights.

Moving the power slider all the way to "Best performance" and toggling the backlight to "Darkest," we saw as low as 3.1 watts, which means about 11.6 hours. With brightness set to "Suggested" we saw 4.3 watts (theoretical 8.4 hours). Cranking the backlight up to maximum, draw rose quite a bit to 8.5 watts, good for a theoretical 4.2 hours.
