It was the spaciousness and layout of the home that attracted the owners to the home when they first purchased it. Generously proportioned rooms are graced with hardwood floors, crown moldings and an abundance of windows that fill the space with light and take in the beauty of the natural backdrop.

But even with all of my manufacturing experience and visits to literally hundreds of manufacturers all over the world, I had never been in a motorcycle helmet factory.

Mr. Kapres explains that the new profiles were conceived in response to a flood of requests for a more traditional, beaded profile and a smaller finish moulding for covering joints between ceiling boards and walls. “This is only the beginning,” he says. “Our conversations with contractors, designers, architects and distributors constantly spark ideas for new profiles and colors.

An invitation to visit Apple’s studio is rare, and is withheld even from most employees. Inside the door, a ten-foot-long internal vestibule, in stainless steel, serves as a visual air lock. One’s view is largely restricted to the desk of Harper Alexander, an office manager, who—in a corporate culture ruled by reticence—has an unusually lively Twitter presence. Since the case is basically a shell, there’s not much to worry about. The buttons are exposed, though they are a little obstructed by the case on the bottom. The cutout for the fingerprint sensor is adequate, as is that of the camera (even if it is shaped a little weirdly). The integrated magnet on the back is cool, though you will need to pay an extra $10 to get the mount from PITAKA. That mount was too large for the air vents in my old BMW, though your mileage will obviously vary. I tried using a run-of-the-mill circular magnetic mount off Amazon, but that didn’t hold it very well for some reason, even though it held my Thin Fit and its magnet just fine. Again, this may not be an issue for you, but it’s important to keep in mind.

As a case, the Live Case is above average. The dual-layer design is very nicely integrated, providing a nice two-tone look and a slim profile while still giving you two layers between your phone and wherever it ends up falling. The buttons are tactile, though they could stand to protrude from the case a bit more. The cutouts for the camera and fingerprint sensor are both pretty standard, and the one for the USB Type-C port is a little wider than other cases’. The lip up front is very minimal, so if you have a screen protector of any kind, it’ll scrape when the phone is put face-down. There’s a small ‘G’ embedded into the back of the case, just in case you forget what company made the case.

After Thursday’s vote, Womack released a written statement reiterating his concerns about the outcome.
