He would tell me, ‘Anytime you meet with Steve, I gotta know.’ ” (Satzger declined to comment.)

While the Covert 2 isn’t horrible, that’s not enough to distinguish it from the competition. It’s not the easiest on the eyes, it isn’t the best at any particular category, and $14.95 isn’t a bargain. It’s also only available at Ghostek’s site and not Amazon, which pretty much guarantees that nobody will buy it. And I don’t mean to sound harsh, but given the quality of other cases, I’m fine with that. It’s available in black, orange, pink, red, teal, and white.

“The biggest thing is to bring in more lighting,” he said. “Garages often have LED lighting, and we add brighter lighting as well as additional outlets, especially around work surfaces so you can plug things in.

The Xplore L10 is designed to guard against dust and liquids getting inside, something that’s most easily accomplished with as few external ports and openings as possible. The material isn’t very stiff, and we usually like to have two guys carry it as it snaps much easier than wood. Because of its flex, I’d be reluctant to use it over the ventilated rainscreen setup I typically use with wood board and batten; I’m not sure it would lie flat over the long haul.

Over the course of my review run, I found the imaging performance of the 8C to be disappointing. Even in well-lit conditions, photos from the dual-lens primary camera setup come out to be vastly-overexposed, with details in brighter spots of the scene getting completely lost. Turning on HDR doesn’t help things either. The ‘Portrait mode’ generally works fine, allowing you to adjust the background blur even after the photo has been captured.
