Most exclusive of all will be the Range Rover Velar First Edition. Limited to approximately 500 units in the U.S. and available for one model year only, the Velar First Edition is even more luxurious than the HSE specification. This model is powered solely by the 380HP 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine and features a wealth of extra features as standard, including a full extended leather interior, as well as a copper weave carbon fiber trim finisher, to complement the perforated Windsor leather seats finished in two tone Light Oyster/Ebony, a 1600W Meridian™ 3D Signature Surround Sound System, and special 22-inch Split-Spoke wheels with diamond-turned finish are also standard.
In 1985, Ive began studying industrial design at Newcastle Polytechnic (now Northumbria University). He had the profound experience of using a Mac for the first time: “I had a sense of the values of the people who made it.” He had two half-year internships at a London design firm, and his adeptness was embarrassingly evident: according to Clive Grinyer, who met him in that office, Ive was given some of the company’s most important work. Grinyer recalled visiting Ive in Newcastle: “I stayed the night in his living room, surrounded by hundreds of foam models—all white, of course. There was that little tiny difference between each one.” He called Ive “the most focussed human being I’ve come across.” This is also Ive’s description of Jobs.
I’ll be honest: my first impression of the Exec 2 was not very positive. The case is a lot thicker than most inherently, and the cardholder on the back only makes things much worse in that regard. Plus, the cardholder looks rather cheesy – almost like something a five-year old would think looks ‘cool.’ The leather looks fake (even though it’s supposedly real), there are 12 silver squares on it for visual effect, and the Ghostek branding really shouldn’t be on there.
While dbrand does sell a full-body skin, I installed the back-only one. dbrand sends both in regular purchases. I’m a much bigger fan of this version, as it’s easier to install and allows you to put a case over it. I currently have a Ringke Fusion over mine, and since the skin doesn’t add much thickness at all, the case is unaffected. Until dbrand starts shipping out its Grip cases, this is probably the best solution if you also want some protection.
Each of the fabricated surfaces has been characterized during pool boiling of saturated water at atmospheric conditions using a custom built experimental apparatus. The complete details of the apparatus, testing procedures, and experimental uncertainty can be found in the Methods Section as well as prior publications14,19. Briefly, each surface was soldered to an insulated copper heater block and submerged in a bath of saturated water. The heat flux delivered to the surface, q”, is periodically increased in small increments and the system is left to reach thermal equilibrium, typically 10–20 minutes. After this the surface temperature and heat flux are recorded, and the process is repeated up until the CHF is reached. CHF is taken as the highest stable heat flux prior to the uncontrollable increase in surface temperature associated with dry-out. The average wall temperature at the surface of the sample, , is measured using a thermocouple placed at the top of the heater block, and accounts for the various thermal resistances between this thermocouple and the surface. These include the resistances across the solder interface and bulk copper14,19, as well as the resistance across the composite copper-epoxy region near the surface of the sample. While the embedded epoxy produces in-plane temperature variations on the surface, it does not greatly impact the overall thermal resistance of the sample itself. For the extremely thin samples tested in this work (1 mm thickness), the increase in overall thermal resistance of the substrate was ~6% for the N = 4 cm−1 design. For a more realistic wall thickness of 1/4 inch (6.35 mm), the increase in thermal resistance associated with adding embedded epoxy divisions drops to less than 1%.
Their task was substantial. The rain pooled on the front section of the roof and began to run down into the building soaking each floor and leaving about 4 inches of water in the basement. The windows in the elevator shaft were broken and the rain got in and destroyed the food and liquor stock stored there. The carpet in the bar had to be replaced, along with several wall panels and about 20 percent of the ceiling panels.
Engineering integrity is at the heart of every Land Rover vehicle. Engineered in the UK and developed and tested in the harshest conditions around the world, the Range Rover Velar upholds that core philosophy. The result is a mid-size luxury SUV that provides outstanding dynamics and refinement, unparalleled all-terrain capability and total dependability.
Dynamic-I information is also displayed in the touchscreen and shows g, stopwatch and the throttle pedal activation, helping enthusiasts to make the most of their driving experiences.
For Rem Koolhaas and Miuccia Prada, more is more. A luxurious tower of art galleries is the last building on the Prada Foundation’s campus.
In order to achieve this elegant simplicity, inside, designers relied on a new InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system; the centerpiece of the vehicle’s interior. Touch Pro Duo features two 10-inch high-definition touchscreens2 integrated seamlessly behind hidden-until-lit surfaces. These slim, intuitive displays work in harmony with the cabin architecture while adding an overall sense of modernity congruent with the vehicle’s reductive exterior design approach. All of this is equaled by the vehicle’s practicality: luggage compartment volume is 34.4 cu. ft. behind row two.
Standard on First Edition models and available on select models, Configurable Dynamics allows the driver to tailor vehicle settings to their individual preference using the touchscreen. In Dynamic mode’s default setting, throttle response is increased, gear shifts anticipate a sportier driving style, the suspension stiffens and power-steering assistance is reduced for extra driver feedback. Configurable Dynamics allows each parameter to be individually adjusted, so increased throttle response can be combined with, for example, the default suspension setting2.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Neo Hybrid Herringbone is the design. Like it or not, it definitely stands out from the crowd, even in this relatively drab gray/black color combo. Whereas Neo Hybrids’ frames used to be made of hard, glossy plastic, this frame has a more matte look and a soft-touch feel. The TPU portion of the case features an interesting pattern on the back, further differentiating this as a case for those who want to stand out from the crowd a little bit. However, this frame does make the case a little bit wider than others usually are, meaning that the phone is a little more difficult to hold onto. It’s really a minuscule difference on paper, but it feels like much more in the hand. If you have small hands, stay away.
