Buttons are a little more difficult to press than is ideal, but they’re not terrible and they’re still tactile. The plastic flap for the charging port makes space a little limited down there, but the stock charger fits in without issue. I did test it out by rinsing it with the phone inside under a sink and submerging it, and no water got in aside from some tiny drops on the charging port flap’s gasket (which means it did what it was supposed to do). The case is rated for IP68 water and dust protection (the Pixel 2 XL comes with IP67) and MIL-STD-810G certification. I’d feel confident if I dropped my phone onto asphalt or into water with the FRE on. In fact, the FRE is actually rated even against saltwater since it completely insulates the phone from the outside world.

The Air Jacket is a bad case, plain and simple. It’s not protective at all, it’s slippery, and the buttons are awful. On top of that, it’s a whopping $34.95 on the Google Store. I’d hesitate to pay $5 for this case, and that’s not an exaggeration. Please don’t buy this thing.

Another feature of today’s restaurants that greatly increases the loudness inside are open kitchens—where the making of the food is on full display. This design used to be relegated to the lowly diner. But fine-dining restaurants began to expose their kitchens during the 1970s and early ’80s; Pearlman attributes the trend to Wolfgang Puck (though he didn’t invent the idea). Puck’s restaurant Spago, which opened in 1982, was one of the first high-profile restaurants to feature a centrally located brick oven, and was met with widespread critical acclaim. Other design trends that increased the volume of eating establishments also got their start at this time, including the communal table and full-service bar dining.

I’d like to make a table with a map that moves and the miniatures have to keep moving not to get killed by touching the end. Like a motorized pull down blind. Time is ticking and no stopping.
