It seems like any clear TPU cases are privy to the rainbow effect, and the Cloak 3 is no exception. Catch the light at the right angle, and you’ll get a giant splattering of random colors, which isn’t exactly ideal. There’s some large "GHOSTEK" branding right in the middle, and it doesn’t look great either. The entire panel is also a big fingerprint magnet. At least the cutouts for the fingerprint sensor and camera are accurate and sized correctly.

The Solo Wallet case snaps on simply to your 6s, engulfing it in premium leather. The leather is so well-affixed to the custom-molded case, it looks clean and seamless. Perfectly designed cutouts reveal a camera hole, volume-control buttons, the charging area, and everything else you need access to on the perimeter of your phone. Two integrated slots for credit cards, cash or an ID mark the back of the case.

Adaptive Dynamics is standard on all models. By monitoring wheel movement 500 times per second, and body movements 100 times per second, the system continuously varies the damping forces at all four corners of vehicle. This ensures that suspension stiffness is optimized for the driving conditions, improving ride comfort and handling – there’s even a specific calibration for off-road driving2.

I’m not going to lie; I thought that the Peel might actually be the exact same case as the MNML, just rebranded, before I was able to compare them in person. After all, they’re both super-thin cases made of the same material with the same basic design. In my opinion, the Peel has a slightly better design, but it’s also more expensive than the MNML.

The Honor 8C isn’t a bad smartphone; none of Honor’s (and by extension, Huawei’s) smartphones are. It looks funky, has a lightweight yet sturdy build quality, and the battery life is awesome. But when you factor in disadvantages like underwhelming cameras and a frustrating software experience, the overall package becomes far less appealing.

As always with Windows devices, we used PassMark’s BatteryMon utility to measure power draw on the high-end Core i7-8650U version of the L10 with the 1,000 nits screen.

All in all, I was satisfied with the Whitestone Dome Glass for the single reason that it actually works. Virtually every glass screen protector these days is garbage because there’s no adhesive on the screen area, but Whitestone Dome came up with a creative solution to it. The protector still isn’t officially out for the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL, but I’d expect it to cost between $50 and $60 based on products for other phones. We’ll update with a link once it officially debuts. (update: It actually costs $44.99, which isn’t bad.)

The even more advanced Terrain Response® 2 system, standard on First Edition models and available as an option on all others, also has an automatic setting to make it even simpler for drivers to fully exploit the vehicle’s capability by allowing the system to automatically select the best Terrain Response mode for the given surface2.

You may have heard of Bellroy before if you’ve been in the market for a wallet or a backpack. Lately, though, the company has been branching out into tech accessories, including a sleeve and ‘Pen Clip’ for the Pixelbook. As part of its collaboration with Google, Bellroy is also producing leather cases for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. These sound great on paper, but unfortunately, they’re a complete and utter letdown.

That change might be harder than it sounds. It took decades for quiet, contemplative dining to give way to today’s raucousness. That’s because the physical construction of restaurants had to change in tandem with the culture supporting it.

At first, the designers put little on paper. After years of collaboration, “we just get it,” Ive said. “We know exactly what somebody means.” They first discussed the watch’s over-all architecture, rather than its shape. Ive’s position was that people were “O.K., or O.K. to a degree,” with carrying a phone that is identical to hundreds of millions of others, but they would not accept this in something that’s worn. The question, then, was “How do we create a huge range of products and still have a clear and singular opinion?”
